Kobold Class Cone Variable Area Flow Meter

Description

Kobold Class Cone Variable Area Flow Meter works on the basis of the suspended float principle. It is used for measuring the flow rates in closed pipe line systems.

The medium flows from below through a glass measuring cone that gets wider on top. Thus, the float is raised and indicates the respective flow rate on the scale provided on the measuring cone. To monitor flow rate limits, the URM meters can be optionally furnished with “open collector“ proximity switches. By its special design, this model is particularly suitable for applications where only very small operating pressures are available. Another advantage is offered by the very large sight glass which optically allows direct flow observation.

Kobold Class Cone URB

URB Kobold Variable Area Flowmeter
URB Kobold Variable Area Flowmeter

The flow meters model URB for liquids operate on the suspended float principle; i.e. the installation position is vertical and the direction of flow is from bottom to top. The flow meter has an economical armature. The measuring tube is not covered or protected against external impact. The instruments have been designed as simple and are thus suitable for economical measuring systems.

Technical Details

  • Installation position: vertical, flow from bottom
  • Accuracy class: 4 acc. to VDI/VDE 3513
  • Max. pressure: 3 bar
  • Process temperature: 0…+65°C
  • Protection: IP65
  • Connections: G½, G¾, G1, G1¼

Class Cone UVR UTR

The flowmeters and switches model UVR and UTR for liquids and air operate on the suspended float principle: that is, the installation position is vertical and the direction of flow is from bottom to top.

The instruments have been designed as simple and thus economical measuring systems. The float for UVR and UTR is a bomb form float, whereby the indication point is the top of the float. The appliance is available with or without needle valve as well.

Applications

  • Cooling water system
  • Gas monitoring for burners
  • Inert gas controlling

The Kobold URL model flowmeter/monitor works on the basis of the suspended float principle. It is used for measuring the flow rates in closed pipe line systems. The medium flows from below through a glass measuring cone that gets wider on top. Thus, the float is raised and indicates the respective flow rate on the scale provided on the measuring cone. To monitor flow rate limits, the URL meters can be optionally furnished with “open collector“ proximity switches.

This plastic version is not only economical but also resistant against several chemicals. By its special design, this model is particularly suitable for applications where only very small operating pressures are available. Another advantage is offered by the very large sight glass which optically allows direct flow observation.
