Delta-Electrogas VMH Safety Shut Off Valves

Delta-Electrogas VMH Safety Shut Off Valves is a high-performance, electro-hydraulically actuated safety device engineered for the automatic control and emergency isolation of gas and air flows in industrial combustion systems. Specifically designed to meet the rigorous safety requirements of EN161 standards, the VMH series features a specialized slow-opening and fast-closing mechanism that ensures smooth burner ignition while providing an instantaneous, gas-tight seal in the event of power loss or system failure. With its robust die-cast aluminum construction and high-pressure capability, the VMH serves as a critical safety barrier in large-scale thermal processing applications, including industrial boilers, kilns, and furnaces where operational reliability is paramount.

History Of DELTA

1961 – Elettromeccanica DELTA s.p.a. was founded in Arcade (TV) with the aim of designing and manufacturing oil burners with mechanical atomization. 2011 – Elektrogas range celebrates 30 years in the market, with a product portfolio that now includes control valves, filters, gas regulators, servomotors, and combustion controllers. Today – Elettromeccanica DELTA, with its brands Elektrogas and Deltapumps, is a proud manufacturer of safety and control products for gas firing systems and fuel oil appliances, successfully installed in more than 60 countries in the world.

Application Of Delta-Electrogas VMH Safety Shut Off Valves Application

  • Electro-Hydraulic Actuation: Unlike standard electromagnetic valves, the VMH uses an electric motor-driven hydraulic pump. This design provides the massive mechanical force required to open the valve against high spring tension and high line pressure (up to 1500 mbar).
  • Adjustable Opening Control: The valve features an adjustable hydraulic damping system that allows the opening time to be set between 4 and 30 seconds. This prevents pressure surges and “flame lift-off” during the ignition sequence.
  • Failsafe Closing: In an emergency or power outage, the hydraulic pressure is instantly released, allowing a heavy-duty internal spring to slam the valve shut in under 1 second.
  • Monitoring & Integration: The VMH can be fitted with a Closed Position Indicator (CPI) microswitch. This provides a physical “Proof of Closure” signal to the control system, a mandatory requirement in many safety-critical burner management systems (BMS).
