Bearing Components and Their Functions refers to the various components that make up a bearing system used to support and enable rotational or linear motion in a machine or mechanical device. Bearings are used to reduce friction and wear between two moving parts, as well as improve the operational efficiency of mechanical systems.

The main bearing components include balls, rollers, inner rings, outer rings, and lubricants, each of which has a specific function to ensure optimal performance. Bearings are very important machine element components because of their function to support a shaft so that the shaft can rotate without experiencing excessive friction.

Outer Ring and Inner Ring Raceaway
As the name implies, the outer ring is a bearing component that is located at the very outside while the inner ring is located on the inside of the bearing. These two rings function to hold the ball so that its rotation is always in the same place.
The material often used for both rings comes from hard materials such as steel or metal with a chromium coating, because the strength of the bearing material is affected by the load to be received and the service life of the bearing itself.
However, the outer ring & inner ring are also sometimes made of other lighter weight materials such as ceramic or plastic. However, the use of lightweight materials is not suitable for placement at high temperatures and pressures, so care must be taken before choosing bearings with these materials.

Rolling Ellements
In the inner bearing there is an element that can rotate. Usually this element has a variety of shapes such as ball, roller / cylinder, cone or hard needle. This element moves and is in direct contact with the outer ring and inner ring and will move according to the path when the shaft rotates.

Cage
Cage or house that functions to maintain the distance between the ball or cylinder so as not to collide or rub against each other. So that the bearing rotation becomes smooth and smooth.
