CTS Schreiner Connect Pneumatic Connector Seals and Fitting

Description

The CTS Connect line of pneumatic connectors and pneumatic tube fittings all use our proprietary seal materials. These unique materials are manufactured to resist wear and are resistant to all types of fluids and chemicals. The result is a more durable and longer lasting pneumatic seal for low- or high-pressure applications.

We have over 30 years of sealing experience in leak testing and filling applications and provide custom pneumatic components for a range of applications. Our custom products include a full line of standard pneumatic connectors, pneumatic tube fittings, Luer connectors, pneumatic tube fittings, and more.

CTS Connect CI ( Inside )

Air Actuated Connectors

CI (Connect Inside)
CI (Connect Inside)

The CTS Connect Inter Diameter (ID) pneumatic connectors effectively seal on smooth, rough, or threaded circular features of a part. These pneumatic connectors consist of an air-driven internal piston that compresses the CTS proprietary seal material against the surface of the part, creating a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements regardless of surface shape or finish. Benefits include:

  • Superior sealing capability without the risk of scratching the surface of the part
  • Automated sealing to minimize operator fatigue and injury
  • Threaded and tapered connector nose on ID Connector models
  • Large test/fill port holes for better conductance
  • Built-in stroke limiter
  • Easy seal replacement
  • Long seal life

Tooling Functions

The part to be sealed is placed into the CTS Connect connector as the pilot air pressure is applied by triggering a start switch. In automated applications, a cylinder will advance the CTS Connect connector to the part. For vacuum applications, no safety tooling is required because the vacuum will hold the additional part or seal restraints are required to prevent a blow off condition in case the seal pilot pressure is released before the part pressure. Thepressure range for the internal (CI) connector is vacuum to 120 psi.

Sealing

CTS Connect TM connectors are ideal for smooth or rough surfaces, and threaded holes (NPT, Metric, or SAE). The standard proprietary grade seals offer superior extrusion performance as well as cut and abrasion resistance. The proprietary grade seal material also provides extended life. The proprietary grade seal is standard in all connectors. Available seal materials include:

  • Proprietary
  • Medical grade urethane

Pilot Pressure

CTS Connect connectors are regulated pilot pressure set to the minimum pressure needed to seal life. Normal pilot pressures extend the seal life. Normal pilot pressures range from 60 to 90 psi. Higher pilot pressures may be required for rough seal surfaces and NPT, Metric, and SAE connections. If higher pilot pressures are required, boosters are available.

The CTS Connect Outer Diameter (OD) pneumatic connectors effectively seal on smooth, rough, or threaded circular features of a part. Connect OD pneumatic connectors consist of an air-driven internal piston that compresses the CTS proprietary seal material against the surface of the part, creating a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements regardless of surface shape or finish. Benefits include:

  • Superior sealing capability without the risk of scratching the surface of the part
  • Automated sealing to minimize operator fatigue and injury
  • Large test/fill port holes for better conductance
  • Easy seal replacement
  • Long seal life

CTS Connects™ Manual Seal Internal Connector

Manual Seal Connectors

CTS Connects Manual Seal Connectors
CTS Connects Manual Seal Connectors

The CTS ConnectTM internal hand connectors effectively seal on smooth, rough, or threaded circular features of a part. The connectors consist of a cam driven piston that compresses the CTS proprietary seal material against the surface of the part, creating a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements, regardless of surface shape or finish. CTS ConnectTM connectors provide:

  • Superior sealing capability without the risk of scratching the surface of the part
  • Threaded and tapered connector nose on ID Connector models
  • Large test/fill port holes for better conductance
  •  Easy seal replacement
  • Long seal life

Tooling Functions

The part to be sealed is placed over the CTS ConnectTM connector and the hand cam advances the internal piston to compress the seal inside the part. For vacuum applications, no safety tooling is required because the vacuum will hold the part in the connector. For pressure applications, additional part or seal restraints are required to prevent a blow off condition in case the seal handle is released before the part pressure is exhausted. The pressure range for the internal (HI) connector is up to 35 PSI on 30 finishes, 50 PSI on 65 finishes, 75 PSI on 125 finishes, and 100 PSI on treaded ports.

CTS ConnectTM connectors are ideal for smooth or rough surfaces, and threaded holes (NPT, Metric, or SAE). The standard proprietary grade seals offer superior extrusion performance as well as cut and abrasion resistance. The proprietary grade seal material also provides extended life. The proprietary grade seal is standard in all connectors. Available seal materials include:

  • Proprietary
  • Medical grade urethane

The CTS-Schreiner Connect HI manual connectors (with and without grip handles) effectively seal on smooth, rough, or threaded circular features of a part. Connect ID manual connectors consist of a cam driven piston that compresses the CTS-Schreiner proprietary seal material against the surface of the part, creating a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements, regardless of surface shape or finish.

CTS Connect HI Connector Specs

HO (Outside Seal and Fill)
HO (Outside Seal and Fill)

Highlights

  • Superior sealing capability without the risk of scratching the surface of the part
  • Large test/fill port holes for better conductance
  • Easy seal replacement
  • Long seal life

CTS-Schreiner Connect HO Connectors are designed to seal on the outer diameter of smooth, rough or threaded features of a part, and allow filling or pressurizing through the fill port.

The HO manual connectors (with and without grip handles) effectively seal on smooth, rough, or threaded circular features of a part. Manual connectors like the HO Connectors consist of a cam driven piston that compresses the CTS-Schreiner proprietary seal material against the surface of the part, creating a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements, regardless of surface shape or finish.

Luer Connectors

Luer Connectors
Luer Connectors

Highlights

  • Superior sealing capability without the risk of scratching the surface of the part.
  • Automated sealing to minimize operator fatigue and injury
  • Large test port holes for better conductance
  • Easy quick change nose piece that securely locks into place to accommodate multiple luer fitting designs

Luer fittings and adapters connect via a basic friction fit commonly used in many industries, including pharmaceuticals and health care. They are often used with catheters and small valves and fittings in medical device assemblies.

The CTS-Schreiner Connect pneumatic actuated luer connectors effectively seal on the face of both male and female luer lock fittings. Our luer connectors consist of a nose piece that grips the luer fitting and an air-driven internal piston that drives an FDA approved medical seal material into the face of the part. This creates a tight seal that meets all test pressure requirements.
