Barnwell Fluid Sealing is the UK’s largest independent, manufacturer, stockist and distributor of fluid sealing products.. With over 40 years’ experience, we have always exceeded our customer’s expectations through consistent delivery of quality, service and value.
Barnwell Fluid Sealing aim to work in partnership with our customers to provide expert industry knowledge, technical expertise and reduce their long-term costs. Applying our unique product knowledge to specific customer needs, we can offer the right sealing solution for any application and industry.
Barnwell Services holds over 8 million stock items, so customers can be assured of a quick turnaround. Orders for stock items will be despatched the same day via M Barnwell Services logistic team or subcontracted to one of our reliable freight forwarders.
Non-standard items are ordered immediately and delivery timescales kept to a minimum. M Barnwell Services also have two CNC SealMaking Machines at the Birmingham headquarters. This allows M Barnwell Services to produce ‘emergency’ seals in less than an hour.

Self Certification
With assured confidence in the supplier base and products, M Barnwell Services can self-certify items, removing the need for engineering approval. Alternatively, PSW and ISIR are standard procedure for the quality control department with PPAP from selected suppliers.

With an agreement, M Barnwell Services will hold a minimum 3 months stock of your FAD requirements, allowing reduced lead times and minimum order quantities, but also providing the flexibility required for the best possible service levels.

M Barnwell Services are the largest independent manufacturer, stockist and distributor of O Rings and Back-Up Rings in the UK. With 50 million O Rings and Back-Up Rings in stock, we supply to over 5000 customers globally every month – quickly and reliably.
Oil Seals / Rotary Shaft Seals
Oil Seals are also known as a Radial Lip Seals, Shaft Seal, Elastomeric Lip Seal, Grease Seals, and Dust Seals our Rotary Shaft Seals help prevent lubricant leakage by retaining the fluid within the application while simultaneously protecting it from the intrusion of harmful external contaminants.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Seals
Barnwell Services Hydraulic and Pneumatic seals are known for their longevity and durability and are used by many well-known OEMs in food, construction, pharmaceutical, plant, pneumatic and hydraulic applications.
Barnwell offer seals in Metric and Imperial sizes and in a variety of materials including Rubberised Fabric, PTFE (Including Virgin, Carbon, Bronze, Glass filled), Polyurethane (AU), Nitrile (NBR), Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR), Viton® (FKM/FPM), Fluorosilicone (FVMQ), Ethylene propylene (EPDM), Silicone (VMQ), Nylon®, Nylatron®, Acetal, Peek, and Leather.
Sealing Kits and Selection Boxes
M Barnwell Services quality selection of sealing kits provides the industry with ready-made solutions to suit a vast range of applications. Popular sizes of products have been assembled into clearly marked, handy-sized boxes or bags.

Anti Vibration Mounts
M Barnwell Services offer Anti Vibration Mounts, rubber mounts, and rubber-to-metal bonded engineering components that are very simple to use and provide excellent isolation in a wide range of applications. These mounts are available in 45 ShA or 60 ShA natural rubber as standard.

Back-up Rings (Anti-Extrusion Rings)
Barnwell Services Back-up Rings (also known as Anti-Extrusion Rings) are used to support O Rings and X-Rings / Quad-Rings in both static and dynamic applications to overcome the extrusion of the seal when the system pressure is too great for an unsupported seal.
Back-up Rings are usually required on system pressures above 105 BAR (1500 PSI) or where extrusion gaps are excessive. We stock a vast range of Anti-Extrusion Rings to suit Imperial and Metric sized O Rings. These include Spiral, Split and Solid types.
Bonded Seals
Vast stocks and the shortest lead times in the industry makes M Barnwell Services the trusted supplier of Bonded Seals / Sealing Washers to thousands of engineers.
Commonly known as Dowty Seals, M Barnwell Services Bonded Seals and Washers are reliable and dependable in high pressure applications. Particularly suitable for sealing under the heads of bolts and threaded components, for Pipe Couplings and a wide range of connector applications where a perfect face-to-face contact is required for sealing gases, oils, and other fluids.
Mechanical Seals
Barnwell Services Mechanical Seals are one of the most effective ways of sealing rotating shafts, consisting of two lapped faces arranged perpendicular to the axis of the rotating shaft (which gives rise to the alternative name Radial Face Seal, Pump Seals or Packings).
One face is fixed to the equipment casing or vessel, while the other is fixed to the shaft and so rotates with it. Frictional heat generation and wear are controlled by maintaining a film of lubricant between the seal faces. As such, mechanical seals resemble thrust bearings.
PTFE Seals
Barnwell Services are the UK’s leading stockist, distributor, and manufacturer of PTFE Seals. With over 40 years of experience and industry-leading technical support, our customers can be confident that they will receive the correct product for their application. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) sealing products are recommended for use in many industrial applications.
Rubber Expansion Joints
Barnwell Services offers a variety of different rubber expansion joints as well as accessories (UV protection panels / flange protection hoods, etc.) that are specifically engineered for the movements and vibrations in piping systems.
V Seals
Barnwell Services stock a full range of V Rings / V Seals designed to be used in many rotary sealing applications. V Rings / V Seals are a relatively low-cost method of sealing and can be used as an auxiliary seal to prevent the ingress of dust and water. The seals are all rubber and an interference fit on the shaft, they then rotate with the shaft, sealing axially against the counter face.
