Overview
Fluid Components International (FCI) designs and manufactures thermal mass flow meters, flow switches, and level switches for industrial process measurement applications utilizing patented thermal dispersion flow measurement technologies.
FCI designs manufactures, and sells a broad line of thermal mass flow meters for air and gas flow measurement. Thermal mass flow meter technology utilizes the relationship between flow rate and cooling effect for direct measurement of mass flow.
With no moving parts and minimal invasiveness, thermal flow meters provide a highly repeatable, accurate, low-cost, easy-to-install solution for air and gas flow measurements. FCI provides flow meters suitable for applications in pipes and ducts, as small as 1/4 inch [6mm] to the largest of stacks.
FCI thermal mass flow meters feature precision, surface-mount, and RoHS-compliant electronics with industry-leading functions and communications capabilities, and with unmatched agency approvals and certifications. Whether standard analog outputs like 4-20mA or pulse or digital bus communications of HART, Foundation Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, Modbus, and more, FCI has a thermal flow meter solution.

Transmitter enclosures are the industry’s most rugged and tested and carry global agency approvals that ensure the longest service life and safe operation in the most demanding process and plant applications. ST Series Flow Meters Model
ST50 Air And Compressed Air Flow Meter
- The Model ST50 is a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable flow rate measurement of air, compressed air, or nitrogen. This insertion-style flow meter has no moving parts and is available in probe lengths for installation into pipe diameters from 2.5 inches to 24 inches [63 mm to 610 mm]. It is easily connected to the pipe via a 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch NPT compression fitting.
- The ST50 electronics are housed in a rugged, IP67-rated enclosure with dual conduit ports in either NPT or M20 threading. The instrument comes standard with dual 4-20 mA outputs – one for flow rate, and one for temperature. A 500 Hz pulse output (for external totalizer) can be added as an option. The transmitter/electronics can be integrally mounted with the flow element (probe), or be remotely mounted to best match your installation situation.
ST51/ST51A Gas Mass Flow Meters
- The Model ST51 and ST51A are a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable flow measurement of biogas, digester gas, landfill gas, methane, and natural gas as well as air, compressed air, or nitrogen. This insertion-style flow meter has no moving parts and is available in probe lengths for installation into pipe diameters from 2.5 inches to 24 inches [63 mm to 610 mm].
- It is easily connected to the pipe via a 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch NPT compression fitting. ST51 uses constant power thermal dispersion drive technology, with a slightly heated sensor, which uniquely provides a subtle drying effect on the sensors that results in effective measurement in moist gas applications.
ST75 Series Mass Flow Meters
- The ST75 Series thermal flow meters are a compact, low-cost solution for accurate, repeatable direct mass flow measurement of air and gases. These in-line (spool-piece) style flow meters have no moving parts and are available for use in pipe diameters from 1/4 inches to 2 inches, [6 mm to 51 mm]. Process connection options include male NPT, female NPT, and flanged. These thermal flow meters feature wide 100:1 turndown and depending on pipe size, will measure from 0.01 SCFM to 559 SCFM [0,01 NCMH to 950 NCMH].
- The ST75 Series electronics are housed in a rugged, IP67-rated enclosure with dual conduit ports in either NPT or M20 threading. The instrument comes standard with dual 4-20 mA outputs and a 500 Hz pulse output. The models ST75A and ST75AV include HART or Modbus, as well as NAMUR-compliant 4-20 mA outputs and SIL compliance rating. The flow meter’s transmitter/electronics can be integrally mounted with the flow element (probe) or be remotely mounted to best match your installation situation. The complete instrument carries global Ex agency approvals for Division l/Zone 1 installations.

ST98 Mass Flow Meter

FS10i Thermal Mass Flow Meters

- FS10i Natural Gas Flow Meter, Inline and Insertion Thermal Flow Meter
- The FS10i is a compact, economical solution to natural gas flow metering. Utilizing application-proven thermal mass flow technology, the FS10i provides a highly accurate and repeatable linearized 4-20 mA output of flow rate.
- It was the first thermal flow meter, and is currently the only one, to comply with SIL 2. Additionally, for applications benefiting from a high or low flow alarm point, the FS10i includes a user-programmable 1A SPDT relay output.
- FS10i Air/Compressed Air Flow Meter, Inline and Insertion Thermal Flow Meter
- The FS10i is a compact, economical solution to air and compressed air flow metering. It is the first, and currently only thermal mass flow meter to meet SIL 2.

MT100 Series Multipoint Thermal Mass Flow Meters
- The MT100 Series is an insertion-type, multipoint thermal flow meter specifically designed for large diameter pipes, such as stacks and flues, and large rectangular ducts, such as air feed intakes and HVAC. Ordinary flow meters find these large pipe/duct applications difficult because of distorted flow profiles and a lack of straight runs, which can lead to inaccurate and non-repeatable flow measurements.
- FCI’s MT100 places up to eight (8) flow sensing points in the flow stream and averages them, resulting in a highly accurate and repeatable flow rate measurement. Unlike other large pipe flow meters, the MT100 has no moving parts or orifices to foul or clog. The insertion design in the same plane makes it an easy and lower-cost solution to install.
