The Products of Kelco Engineering

Paddle Flow Switches

F Series Paddle Flow Switches

The F Series flow switches are tough, but highly sensitive paddle flow switches suitable for a wide range of flow control applications in both hot and cold liquids and a variety of chemicals. The electrical housing of the switch is a separate assembly and locks onto the wet end of the switch. It can be easily and safely removed for servicing, without disturbing electrical wiring. This unique feature and the inclusion of a built-in manual override make the F Series a very versatile flow switch.

The ‘F-H’ models are the standard models in the F Series. The ‘F-RL’ models are the low voltage options specifically designed for use in Ex hazardous applications and with low wetting currents.

FM Series Paddles Flow Switches

The FM Series flow switch is built tough for the most arduous industrial and mining applications. It is a rugged but highly sensitive paddle flow switch suitable for a wide range of flow-sensing applications. The FM Series flow switch can be supplied with a glass fibre-reinforced Polypropylene paddle, or a Nickel Copper alloy paddle suitable for use with diesel and high-temperature applications.

A unique feature of the FM flow switch is its built-in manual override. The manual override allows the flow switch to be switched on at any time at the press of a button regardless of lack of flow. A magnetic coupling system is built into each FM flow switch and couples the paddle’s movement to the high compliance switch through a solid wall of stainless steel and aluminum. The result is a high-pressure flow switch with no seals diaphragms bellows or other points of potential failure. The switch is suitable for use in bore water, seawater, and in many chemical solutions.

Inline Flow Switches

CR22 Microwflow Switch

Kelco Engineering
CR22 Microwflow Switch

The CR22 microflow switch operates on the displaced piston principle. Process liquid passing upwards through the switch lifts a precision piston. Every time the piston is lifted a magnet sealed inside it actuates an external reed switch. The reed switch provides a signal indicating flow. The CR22 can be set up as a normally on or a normally off switch that responds either to flow or to loss of flow.

P25 Series Flow Switch

The P25 inline flow switch is a rugged versatile all-position mounting flow actuated switch. The P25 switches come with the option of 15mm, 20mm, or 25mm pipe connection sizes. It can be used in larger pipe systems provided the maximum flow does not exceed 100 liters per minute. The switch can detect very low flows and yet has a low head loss and a high flow-through rating. It can be used to detect continuous or pulsed flows.

The P25 finds a myriad of applications in industrial, rural, and domestic pumping systems. It is particularly well suited to pressure pumps due to its ability to detect and switch at extremely low flows. In addition, the P25 can be used to protect low-yield bore pumps and in tank-filling applications.

There are no metal parts in contact with liquids. The P25 flow switch is supplied complete with unions and standard PVC pipe sockets for direct solvent gluing into PVC pipework. The union threads on the P25 are standard parallel BSP form and where required can be used to secure the switch directly into threaded pipework.

UB25 Series Flow Switch

The UB25 Series inline flow switches are magnetically actuated piston-style sensors that switch in response to very low fluid flows or flows up to 100L/min. These switches are ideal for all types of pressure-boosting pump control and for the control of commercial or domestic hot and cold water systems.

Kelco Engineering
UB25 Series Flow Switch

The UB25 flow switch is supplied as standard and fitted with a magnetic piston retainer that allows the switch to be oriented in any required position in the pipework. In the vertical pipe, the workflow can be either upward or downward through the switch. There are no springs in the wetted area of the switch, which with the magnetically isolated piston provides an exceptionally reliable mechanism. For monitoring of industrial safety showers where extreme reliability is paramount, we recommend our UB25-C model.

C25 Series Flow Switch

The C25 inline flow switches have a compact design, with a magnetically-actuated piston that switches in response to flow. They are ideal for many types of pressure boosting and control applications in both hot and cold liquids up to 90ºC.

Kelco Engineering
C25 Series Flow Switch

The C25 flow switches can be supplied with reed switch contacts for relay or PLC control or with a built-in 40Amp solid state switch for the direct control of single-phase motors up to 3kW 4HP. For safety shower applications we recommend using our C25-B model with the dry contact reed switch.

Float Switches

K Series Level Regulator

The K series heavy-duty level regulator is a compact three-wire float switch for highly accurate and repeatable single-point level sensing and control applications. It is ideal for use in water, seawater, and most acids and alkali solutions.

It will provide a stable switching action with a very high degree of reliability. The teardrop shape of the float makes it ideal for effluent and sewerage usage, as the float cell has no shoulders or edges for solids to build on. These float switches can be reliably and safely used in potable water systems, as they do not contain hazardous materials such as mercury or lead.

KU Series Level Switch

This product is not suitable for Water or Sewerage applications. The KU series level regulator is a compact three-wire switch specifically designed for single-point level control in oils.

By careful tethering of the cable, the switch can be set to give an ON or OFF action at any desired position. The heavy-duty switch can directly control small pump motors and is also ideal for instrument or PLC signaling.

Level Switches

D40 Heavy Duty Single Point Level Regulator

The D40 level switch operates on Archimedes’ principle. When the non-floating Polypropylene displacer suspended from the switch is immersed in liquid, its weight is reduced by an amount equal to the weight of the liquid it displaces.

Kelco Engineering

This weight change is detected by a magnet and is used to actuate a powerful switch inside the electrical head of the D40. The D40 is designed to be used in water with a specific gravity of 0.95 or greater.

D50 Heavy Duty Dual Point Level Switch

The D50 two-position level switch operates on Archimedes’ Principle. When nonfloating solid displacers suspended from the switch, are immersed in liquid their weight is reduced by an amount equal to the weight of the liquid they displace.

Kelco Engineering

The weight change is detected and used to actuate a magnetically isolated switch. Surface agitation, froth, floating or submerged solids do not affect the action of the D50 switch. The displacement principle depends on the specific gravity of the liquid in which the displacers are suspended. The D50 is set to operate in water with a specific gravity of 0.95 or greater.

L Series Side Entry Level Switch

The L Series side entry level switch provides a reliable accurate and low-cost solution to tank level control. The L Series level switch is built tough to give a long reliable service life in the most arduous applications.
