Philmac TankPHIL Valve

The Philmac TankPHIL is a super-high flow float valve that is ideal for the fast filling of large reservoirs and header tanks. The lever assembly is manufactured from DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass. This means they resist corrosion. This prevents the weakening of the brass leading to premature failure. For use with dual floats, simple to use giving extreme flow in gravity-fed and low-pressure systems.

Allows the user to set max/min water levels, reducing pump cycling and motor overload while saving energy and increasing pump life. The valves have been designed for easy disassembly, by simply removing the pivot pin, lever assembly, and body end cap which allow servicing in place. A full range of spare parts is available.

Utilizing standard BSP thread the valves are ideally suited to a wide variety of tanks with either tapered BSP inlets or tank adaptors. Available in 1¼”, 1½”, and 2” to suit varying inlet sizes. Full flow operation, tested flow performance giving up to 858 L/min. The body is manufactured from high-performance thermoplastic material with excellent UV, impact, corrosion, and chemical resistance.

Installation Instruction  of Philmac TankPHIL Valve

Dual Lever Installation Instructions

  • Remove both levers from the float valve body. For the upper lever, remove the fastening bolt.
  • Lower lever unscrew.
  • Apply PTFE thread tape or approved sealant to the thread ensuring enough is applied to ensure a water-tight seal.
  • Screw in the float valve body by hand only until firm and in the vertical position.
  • Attach the 6” Philmac floats to each of the levers.
  • Attach the lower lever first by screwing the lever into the cam.
  • Then attach the upper lever which has ratchet slots for adjusting and locking the float at a suitable level for your tank.
  • Insert the bolt and tighten it with a shifter. The bolt can be loosened to make adjustments to the water level.
  • The float valve is now fully installed.

The valve must be installed horizontally and firmly mounted at least 100mm from inside of the tank wall. Arms need to be adjusted as per the diagram and never bent. Occasionally lubricate plunger ‘O’ – Ring with silicone grease.
