Wenglor P1KH010 Reflex Sensor Background Suppression works with red light according to the angle measurement principle and is suitable for the detection of objects against any background. The sensor always has the same switching distance, regardless of the color, shape, and surface of the objects. Minimal height differences can be detected with the sensors and, for example, various parts can be reliably differentiated from each other. The IO-Link interface can be used to configure reflex sensors (PNP/NPN, NC/NO) and to output switching statuses.

Applications
Presence Check of Storage Containers in Load Handling Equipment Using Reflex Sensors with Background Suppression
In modern warehouse systems, shuttles or rack feeders must be used to continuously determine whether and how the load handling equipment (LHE) is used and whether target and actual allocations match. To detect the storage boxes in the LHE, several reflex sensors with background suppression are installed all around in the shuttle. Thanks to the large light spot, the size and position of the containers can be reliably detected – even if they are perforated. Thanks to the small blind spot, the sensor can be installed very close to the boxes, which is a great advantage in the narrow shuttles.
