It was founded by Mr. Themis V. Giachos Sr., who is a naval architect and marine engineer. He has been serving the maritime industry since 1967. Since founding the company in 1996, Themis has developed a strong and lasting relationship with Spain-based., which in turn has allowed growing the North American pump market. His extensive experience aboard numerous vessels, in and out of the cruise industry, has provided Azcue Pumps USA with a deep understanding of pump application and maintenance.

Through the years, Mr. Giachos has also worked with many land-based organizations, helping them apply products with successful outcomes. Today, Mr. Giachos is still very active and provides guidance and leadership to the company, which allows us to build on the trusted relationships with our clients and business partners.

Azcue Pumps S.A. is one of the world’s oldest and trusted pump manufacturers. Established in Spain in 1910, we has over a century of experience making quality pumps for many different use cases. we got its start in manufacturing in the late 1800s but soon shifted focus to maritime diesel pumps. With a philosophy of constant and continuous improvement, we built a robust metal foundry capable of producing a wide variety of pumps. This dedication to perfection has allowed Azcue Pumps to achieve the highest quality standards and is certified with the ISO 9001 standards. As a result,we can be found in a diverse set of industries, including marine, water treatment, energy, superyachts, and much more.

Azcue Pumps Product :

Azcue Pumps has a wide variety of types to match your individual use case.

  • Centrifugal
  • Vertical Inline
  • Side-Channel
  • Self-Priming
  • Screw Pumps

Azcue Pumps Types

All Azcue Pumps can be accompanied by a Class Society Type Approval from the top industry class societies such as Lloyds Register, ABS, and Bureau Veritas.

  • CP – Small Close Coupled Centrifugal Pump
    • The CP is a small close coupled centrifugal pump designed to handle clean or a few turbid waters, without abrasive particles, and temperature up to 80º C.
  • CA – Self Priming Centrifugal Pump
    • The CA is a close coupled centrifugal pump that is self-priming and is designed to handle a myriad of liquids. The primary benefits of the CA include a back pull out design, flexible executions, a heavy ball bearing to increase reliability and self-priming that does not require a foot suction valve.
  • MN – Horizontal Monobloc Centrifugal Pump
    • The MN is a horizontal centrifugal pump with high-efficiency and low NPSH. The MN can handle higher temperature fluids with higher suction capacity. Available with a vacuum system or electric priming. The MN has case wearing rings to prolong the life of the impeller and casing.
  • AN – Centrifugal Pump
    • Similar to the MN, the AN is a horizontal centrifugal pump with large capacity, high-efficiency, low NPSH and quiet running. The AN can handle higher temperature fluids and is designed for many applications including drinking water.
  • BOB – Horizontal Centrifugal Pump w/ Robust Bearings Bracket
    • The BOB is a horizontal centrifugal pump that has a robust bearings bracket making it ideally designed for large volumes of water. Available in different executions, the BOB can be outfitted with self-priming options that include vacuum and electric. The BOB model includes case wearing rings to prolong the life span of the impeller and casing.
  • LN – Centrifugal Pump Vertical In-line
    • The LN is the vertical version of the MN horizontal pump. With its vertical centrifugal design, the LN has a back pull out design for easy access to the motor. The LN can be accompanied with a self-priming system in vacuum or electric. As with the MN, the LN has case wearing rings to prolong the life of the impeller and casing.
  • CM – Flexible Coupling Vertical Inline Centrifugal Pump
    • The CM is a vertical centrifugal pump which is similar to the LN but designed to handle a large capacity. The CM has a flexible coupling and spacer between the pump and the motor. The CM can be accompanied with a self-priming system in vacuum or electric. The CM has case wearing rings to prolong the life of the impeller and casing.
  • VM/VR – Rigid Coupling Vertical Inline Centrifugal Pump
    • The VM and VR are both vertical centrifugal pump which is similar to the LN but designed to handle a large capacity. The VR has an additional bearing between the pump to reduce strain. They both can be accompanied with a self-priming system in vacuum or electric. The VM and VR have case wearing rings to prolong the life of the impeller and casing. The VR and VM can also come in an ATEX rated version.
  • MA – Self Priming Close Coupled Side Channel Pump
    • The MA is a close coupled side channel pump designed for lower flow requirements than some of the larger Azcue pumps. With its horizontal design, the MA is ideal for vapor extraction.
  • MO/BR – Self Priming Multistage Side Channel Pump
    • The MO is a close coupled side channel pump that is larger than the MA. With a multi-stage channel design, the MO can generate higher pressure while still handling low flow. Similar to the MA, the MO is ideal for vapor extraction. The BR is the long coupled equivalent to the MO. The BR is more robust and can handle larger capacity.
  • BT – Screw Pump
    • The BT line of pumps are screw pumps with various applications. The BT can come in many configurations including close coupled, spacer coupled, long coupled, dual Bloc. Additionally, the BT has the option for self-priming, magnetic drive, and can be found in horizontal and vertical executions. Due to their triple screw design, the BT pumps are ideal for long distance fluid transfer and have an advantage with low viscosity fuel.
  • VRX – Vortex Horizontal or Vertical In-line Pump
    • The VRX is a centrifugal pump with a vortex impeller that creates a vacuum allowing for solids to pass through internally. The VRX is available in horizontal and vertical execution with the latter designed for immersion.
  • VSS – Vertical Submersible Pump
    • The VSS is a vertical immersion pump designed for higher flow of clean fluids. Unlike the VRX, the VSS is not ideal for fluids containing solids.
  • BTR – Vertical Submersible Grinding Pump
    • The BTR is a vertical immersion pump designed to grind solids. The BTR is capable of grinding solids such as those contained in sewage, waste water, and other solid organic matter. The vertical design of the pump includes an oil-cooled seal that supports higher temperatures.
  • VST – Vertical Centrifugal Submersible Oil Pump
    • The VST is a higher capacity version of the VSS. Ideal for large capacity of fuel and oil transfer.
  • RKZ – Vertical Piston Pump
    • The RKZ has a vertical execution with a gearbox, twin piston design that is capable of high-pressure pumping. The RKZ can be featured with either an electronic or hydraulic drive making it flexible in its application.
  • BLOC – Compact Pumping Module System
    • The BT BLOC is a compact twin vertical pump design that allows for single pump operation with standby capabilities. Ideal for pressure enhancement, the BLOC can aid engines and burners that need oil on demand.
  • C – In-line Multistage Centrifugal Pump
    • The C is a multistage centrifugal pump with inline suction and discharge. Ideal for high pressure capacity, the C can transfer fluids a great distance.
  • KL/KB – Eccentric Screw Pump
    • The KL is a progressive cavity pump with a robust design that is suited for challenging conditions and high intensity pumping. The KL can handle higher capacity solids. The KB is a more compact version of the KL and as such is designed for smaller solids.
  • RA – Side Channel Self Priming Pump
    • The RA is a side channel reversable pump with a liquid ring. Ideal for operating on either side of a tank. The RA can handle vapor extraction.
  • MUD – Drilling MUD Pump
    • The MUD pump is specifically designed for drilling mud transfer.
