About Furness Controls Pressure and Flow Measurement
Furness Controls Pressure and Flow Measurement Founded over 50 years ago, Furness Controls has consistently led in the field of ultra-low range differential pressure measurement. With a heritage based on pioneering work in the 1940’s, a time when technology, developed from low frequency microphones, made measurements down to 0.01pa possible to the present day using state of the art electronics, Furness Controls has remained a key player in the world of low differential pressure measurement.
From this early work, Furness Controls quickly developed a range of micro manometers, differential pressure transducers and transmitters followed by pressure decay leak detectors with un-paralleled sensitivity. The product range includes flow measuring devices such as pitot static tubes and laminar flow elements. These compliment the differential pressure instruments and add greatly to the performance of existing products thereby increasing the range of applications which can be solved.

Outputs can be scaled to velocity readings, enabling flow and velocity measurement using Pitot Tubes or Laminar Flow Elements (LFEs). Relays allow the transmitter to directly drive external alarms or other circuits at configurable measurement thresholds.
- ATEX Certified Pressure Transmitter (FCO354)
- ATEX approved low pressure transmitter for use in hazardous environments. This transmitter has pressure ranges from 5 Pa full scale to 20 kPa full scale and is PC configurable which provides flexibility and reduced spare holding.
- Flush Mount Differential Pressure Transmitter (FCO342)
- The perfect IP64 room pressure measurement instrument
- With the FCO342 flush mounted Differential Pressure Transmitter, Furness Controls provides an all in one pressure transmission and local indication solution, meeting the requirements of reduced cost, footprint and instrumentation on site. Both outputs of measurement ,which included the linear analogue signal and 4 digit display, are within 0.25% of accuracy at the operating pressure of 10 Pascal, or 0.03 Pascal in SI terms.
- The FCO342 uses the proven capacitance-based transducer design for long term reliability and repeatability.
Flow Testing
By combining Furness Controls’ Laminar flow elements with the ability to measure low differential pressures, accurate measurement of flow from as low as 0.01cc/m to over 30,000 l/m can be achieved with very low insertion loss.
