The Product of GIE Industrial Valves and Controls

Ball Valves

The heavy duty construction of GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT, INC. ball valves meets the stringent requirements of the chemical process industry. GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT, INC. ball valves are specially designed for low torque, bubble-tight shut-off, and minimal pressure drop. The Fluoroplastic linings offer outstanding corrosion resistance and a high degree of safety in various applications. GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT, INC. ball valves are virtually maintenance-free and give long time service due to their quality and simplicity of design.

Design Features and Quality Assurance

  • Cast ductile iron shell conforming to ASTM A395 ensures quality and toughness.
  • One-piece ball/stem design prevents any ball-stem hysterersis and guarantees accurate positioning of ball in open/close condition.
  • Ball-Stem, gland cover, and Levers are made in investment casting.
  • Choice of four different fluoroplastic lining materials to provide corrosion and temperature resistance for almost all applications
  • Extra thick locked-in-lining for high vacuum rating (minimum 3mm).
  • Blow-out-proof stem.
  • Unique packing system. Self-adjusting with permanent loading (Stainless steel Belleville springs). PTFE CHEVRON packing provides stem seal integrity while maintaining low turning torque.
  • Minimum valve body cavity space reduces potential product accumulation and contamination problems
  • A full bore design ensures minimum pressure-drop.
  • Metal to metal body joints fully control lining compression.
  • External protection against corrosion with epoxy coating, stainless steel fasteners and gland cover.
  • Plastic end protectors on each flange to protect the liner faces.

Check Valves

GIE’s broad line of diaphragm valves is widely applied throughout the chemical, food, paper, steel, mining, pharmaceutical, and other process industries wherever positive shut off, non-contamination, or ease of maintenance is required.Available with a wide range of manual and automatic actuators, these valves are available with weir style and straightway flow patterns. Sizes range from 1/2? thru 3? threaded or weld ends: and 1/2? thru 12? flanged ends. Pressure ratings to 200 psi and temperatures to 340 F.

GIE’s Straightway Valves Feature:

  • Full straight-through fluid flow
  • Excellent for sludges, slurries, or viscous fluids
  • Flows in either direction
  • Isolation of bonnet from fluid
  • Easily cleaned with a variety of pigs
  • Simple in-line maintenance
  • Consistently leak-tight, even with solids in the line

Automatic Diaphragm Valves

The GIE, Inc. broad line of diaphragm valves is widely applied throughout the chemical, food, paper, steel, mining, pharmaceutical, and other process industries wherever positive shut-off, non-contamination, or ease of maintenance is required.

Available with a wide range of manual and automatic actuators, these valves are available with weir style and straightway flow patterns. Sizes range from 1/2? thru 3? threaded or weld ends: and 1/2? thru 12? flanged ends. Pressure ratings to 200 psi and temperatures to 340 F.

  • Compact- Low Profile
    • With the specially designed flat-top bonnet, the GIE, Inc. actuator provides a strong, totally enclosed unit with extremely low overall height.
  • Wide Selection
    • Actuators furnished in seven sizes to provide more efficient and economical use of available operating air pressures up to 200 psig.
  • Longer Strokes
    • Together with higher air pressure capability provides greater flexibility in valve/actuator selection. For example, No. 0 (smallest actuator) has more than double the stroke of its nearest competitor.
  • Lower Air Consumption
    • Because of unique design, air consumption is extremely low— in most instances less than half that of the competition.
  • Adjustability
    • In the spring-closed actuator, the adjusting screw provides a convenient means of obtaining valve closure when line pressures are higher than expected.
  •  Adaptability
    • Suitable for either pneumatic or hydraulic operation, the unit can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or in any intermediate position.
