Description of Siko GP04/1 Geared Potentiometer

Siko GP04/1 Geared Potentiometer: Because of their exceptional cost-benefit ratio, potentiometric rotation angle transducers are becoming more and more significant in analogue measuring applications that demand high-quality industrial measurement outputs today.
A Design and functionality of Siko GP04/1 Geared Potentiometer
There are two primary parts to a geared potentiometer. One has precision gear wheels and is a measuring device. The other is an electric resistor element that may be turned to change its resistance value. With the least amount of backlash, the potentiometer and gear unit are constructed at the works. Multi-coil potentiometers use an inbuilt slip clutch to keep the mechanical stops from overrunning. As a result, an ohmic output signal proportional to the number of spins is produced by a geared potentiometer.
Features
- Extremely resistant to external influences
- Solid or blind-hole hollow shaft, max. Ø 20 mm
- Adaptation to various measurement distances owing to a wide range of gear ratios
- Integrated slip clutch to protect the potentiometer
- Potentiometer, power or voltage output
- IP65 protection class
Applications
Siko incremental rotary encoders are better suited for applications involving shocks or vibrations as well as infinite rotational applications, such as rotation measurement or non-contacting measuring assignments.
