Descriptions Of SG 45 Rail Line Systems

The Uniflex SG 45 is a transmitter that processes and tracks input signals from resistance bridges, load cells, strain gauges, and melt pressure sensors. It can be applied to almost any industrial application where accurate force, weight, or melt pressure measurement, signaling, and processing are required. Additionally, it allows for operation and parameter modification through front panel keys. An alternative is to use a PC and a connection adapter to operate, parametrize, and calibrate the Uniflex SG 45. This also makes it possible to record the configuration and modified settings as they are in use. High operational convenience is ensured by the straightforward zero setting mechanism.

High resolution mV signals and a supply voltage for powering strain gauges and sensors with resistance bridges (such as load cells and pressure sensors) are features of the SG 45’s input. It is possible to connect and process up to four 350 ? load cells. In this case, the scaling algorithm immediately transforms the mV signals into the measured value. A table with up to 31 parts can be used to linearize or adjust the input signals.

Additionally, a melt pressure sensor can be connected directly to the SG 45. The SG 45 further offers a contact for turning on the sensor’s 80% calibration resistor in this working mode. Standard features include two relays and a universal output for standard signaling. Galvanic isolation is offered from the supply voltage, the communication interfaces, and between inputs and outputs.

Mounting

The compact SG 45 is clipped onto a tophat DIN rail, and can also be unmounted very simply. All connections are of the plug-in type, so that a controller can be replaced very quickly without disturbing the wiring.

Display and operation

The two-line LC display permits simultaneous indication of the measured value and all of the unit’s operating functions. Moreover, a LED and 4 other display elements give a reliable indication of operating status, operating mode, and error messages. The user-configurable engineering unit of the measured value can be included in the display. By means of the extended Operating Level, it is possible to show any signal or parameter in the 2nd display line.

Interfaces and Engineering Tools

An engineering tool can also be used to modify the transmitter’s settings. The user can do the task at hand without having to follow operating instructions by using the BlueControl® software, which includes the transmitter simulation and, most importantly, the easy connection via the BluePort® front interface. Of course, the front of the gadget can also be used to adjust almost every parameter. Additionally, an optional RS 485 interface with MODBUS RTU protocol installed in the top-hat DIN rail allows the SG 45 to communicate with PCs and other devices. Fieldbuses can be connected to devices with an optional system interface through a bus coupler.

Password Protection

If required, unauthorized access to the various Operating Levels can be prevented with a password, or an entire level can be blocked.
