The Rail Line product line includes temperature limiters, controllers, transmitters, I/O modules, communication field bus couplers, and transmitters for strain gauge sensors for regulating, measuring, converting, and monitoring.
Description Of RL PWR Rail Line Systems
The Rail Line system is designed to offer high accuracy data acquisition and independent control, monitoring and supervision in decentralised automation installations.
The communication gateways to the surrounding automation system are the fieldbus couplers that are discussed in this document. They can be used in combination with KS45, TB45, CI45, SG45 and all Rail Line I/O-extension modules.
System Design
Rail-line includes the ability to link up to 62 I/O modules and a bus coupler for “top hat” rail attachment. Quick-connect plugs are used to connect the I/O modules. For every 16 I/O modules, one power supply module needs to be added.
Internal communication
The I/O modules are connected by an internal bus to the bus coupler module, which stores and updates the attached I/Os’ statuses and values on a continuous basis. The kind and diagnostic findings of the pertinent I/O module are also included in the recorded data. The bus load and the kind and quantity of installed modules determine the scanning cycle.
Data Acess
The process data that is to be transferred can be defined in the Engineering for every function module. Up to 15 values can be read or written. Fast answers to requests are ensured by the bus coupler’s constant availability of data. In a similar vein, the entire engineering can be transferred via the fieldbus interface.
Interfaces and Engineering Tools
The fieldbus coupler as well as the connected function modules, can be configured with the BlueControl® software via the BluePort®interface
