Limesa Meters

LIMESA meters s.r.o. started in 2012. However, the company’s history goes far deeper into the past. A Czechoslovak machinery maker, Elitex a.s., established adepartment in 1989 to focus on heat and flow measurement using the electromagnetic induction principle.

About Limesa Meters

Elitex split up in 1994 whereupon the flow meter department management founded EESA s.r.o.. Rapid development of the new business followed. Proprietary flow and heat meters were designed while annual production volume increased to between 1500 and 2000 meters. The company thereby took a firm position among leaders in flow and heat measurement in the Czech Republic’s market, and new customers were further acquired in Europe, Americas, and Asia.

In 2005, an associate business, LIMA-tool s.r.o., was set up. Besides other activities, it supported development and production of magnetic flow meter mechanical parts, especially flowtube Teflon liners. LIMA-tool began servicing the entire range of EESA meters in 2011, thus becoming EESA’s authorized service provider. EESA meter development had already been discontinued then.

Therefore, LIMA-tool management decided to preserve the long manufacturing tradition and to develop its own flow meter. As part this undertaking, the management made a deal with former EESA development and production staff. LIMA-tool and former EESA employees together started a new company, LIMESA meters. Its core business is development and production of its own flow meters, all mechanical parts, Teflon liners, etc. All related flow meter technology services are covered as well.

This results in a complete production scheme that draws on more than 25 years of expertise that includes entire technology to make magnetic flow meters such as production of all mechanical components, PTFE liners, development and manufacture of electronic units and application software. The final product is highly reliable FG4000 line of magnetic flow meters in modern industrial design with comfortable user environment.

Furthermore, the proprietary flow measurement principle also provides high accuracy over the entire dynamic range, minimum pressure drop due to the metering profile without any mechanical parts as well as other features described in each data sheet and specifications for installation use. The flow meter has, of course, passed all the appropriate tests in authorized laboratories with emphasis on increased resistance against electromagnetic interference in compliance with category E2 pursuant to EN ISO 4064-5, and on high ingression protection rating, IP67.

The Products of Limesa Meters

FG4000 – Electromagnetic Flow Meters

The FG4000 electromagnetic flow meters is primarily designed for a wide range of industrial applications. Flow is determined on the electromagnetic induction principle that allows measuring it without any mechanical parts in the metering profile, which results in virtually no pressure drop.

The FG4000 flow meter is a highly reliably instrument that offers accurate flow measurement in liquids at long-term stability. This flow meter further features awide flow range while maintaining measurement accuracy with fast response to flow fluctuations. An alphanumeric display and three membrane keys provide comfortable operation. Last but not least, accent is put on design user-friendliness, such as easy access to the connectors.

The flowmeter consists of two main parts, a measuring unit and a flow sensor. The measuring unit is housed in a rigid aluminium casting that allows four positions of the flowtube in a horizontal or vertical pipe line while the correct operation position of the stainless steel front panel with display and membrane keys is always provided.

The FG4000 flow meter advanced industrial design satisfies stringent requirements for mechanical as well as chemical resistance thus allowing to use the instrument under most rigorous conditions. The flow meter has ingression rating IP67 while its increased resistance against electromagnetic interference in compliance with category E2 pursuant to EN ISO 4064-5 may be stressed.

The FG4000 measuring unit allows you to connect a wide range of electromagnetic sensors from the most commonly used flanged, sandwich, threaded, food grade to customized versions, limited only by the dimensions given by the technical possibilities.
Integration of flowmeters into third-party extension systems, such as control, visualization and other systems, is enabled by standard pulse or analogue outputs. For a more sophisticated systems, the communication interface with open MeterBUS, RS485 (ModBUS, BitBUS, ASCII, simple), RS232 (ModBUS, Simple) protocols is determined.

The flowmeter can be equipped with an empty pipe detection function. This function is for cases where the permanent flooding requirement of the sensor can not be met.
The measuring unit is also available as an ECONOMIC variant (without the display and keypad). This option is for applications where the flowmeter only serves as a flow and volume variable to the parent system.

Principal Features:

  • Wafer and flanged flowtubes
  • Compact or split design
  • Applicability in chemical and food industries as well as in potable water treatment (stainless steel flowtube)
  • Customizable view of measurement values on display
  • Operation setup (flow conversion coefficient, type of communication and its transmission rate, measuring dynamics, etc.) using membrane keys or application software

Quick and easy access to the connectors is ensured. The flowmeter menu is in English, it is intuitive and allows easy configuration. All user parameters, from the flow and volume units, through the selection of displayed units, setting of the pulse and current output settings, can be easily set by a keypad.   The construction of the measure unit allows four positions of the flowtube in a horizontal or vertical pipe line while the correct operation position of the stainless steel front panel with display and membrane keys is always provided.

The factory standard is a two built-in pulse outputs. One for an information about positive direction of flow and a second for a negative. The second pulse output can be switched to a state contact for information about flow direction. Built-in are two pulse inputs, too. These can be used for a showing of a flow or volume value from an external device on the FG4000 display. The functionality of the FG4000 flowmeter can be extended by an add-on modules, such as the RS232, RS485 or MeterBUS interface, analog outputs 4-20 mA or 0-10 V, temperature module, detection of empty pipe module.

According to ordered specification, the FG4000 measure unit can be powered by 230 Vac, 115 Vac, 36 Vac, 24 Vac or 24 Vdc.
The flow meter has ingression rating IP67 while its increased resistance against electromagnetic interference in compliance with category E2 pursuant to EN ISO 4064-5 may be stressed.

FG4000 – Economic

The economical design of the FG4000 Flowmeter transducer has the same connectivity and functional expandability as the COMFORT version. However, the flowmeter is not fitted with a display and a keyboard.

The local displaying and control functions are missing. This fact is reflected in the overall price, therefore the FG4000 ECONOMIC flow meters are the most cost-effective option. Without local display, it still fully complies with the requirements for integration into superstructure systems such as third-party visualization programs, super control systems (PLC), controlling of electrical valves, connecting of external counters, etc. The connectivity with these systems is allowed via integrated pulse output, analog output or communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, MeterBUS).

FG4200 – New prototype of the measure unit (coming soon)

We finished with the project of a development of a prototype of new electronic unit for our electromagnetic flow meters. This project has been cooperated with the Liberec county and Technical University in Liberec.
