PemTech fixed gas detectors are designed to sense toxic and combustible gases in ambient air. All fixed gas sensors are microprocessor-based and are modularly designed, using the latest in digital technology. Various gas detection technologies are used. The most commonly employed are:

  • Catalytic Bead: Combustible Gases
  • Electrochemical for Toxic Gas Detection (Example: Ammonia, Hydrogen Sulfide, Sulfur Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide)
  • Electrochemical for Oxygen Detection
  • Metal Oxide Semiconductor (also called “Solid State”)
  • Non-dispersive Infrared (NDIR): Combustible Hydrocarbons
  • Photoionization

Mostly toxic gases are monitored and measured in parts per million (ppm) range while Oxygen is measured in percent volume. Combustible gases are generally measured as 0-100% of the lower explosive limit (LEL). All PemTech fixed gas detectors are designed to alarm or generate an alert signal before the gas level reaches a potentially harmful or explosive concentration.

Our multi-channel gas monitors and controllers have the capability to detect numerous toxic and combustible gases, whereas our single channel gas controllers and monitors use today’s best technology to deliver consistent and accurate results – for up to 16 channels of gas detection. We also offer a remote I/O module, which is an addressable 4 channel analog input module with 3 outputs. Lastly, our annunciator panels can be used in both safe and hazardous environments, collecting data from main control monitors and modules in toxic and combustible gas sensing and monitoring systems.

Pem-Tech’s cutting-edge wireless gas detection systems are designed for continuous monitoring of toxic and combustible gases in the air. No complicated system configuration is needed. Simply assign a unique address to the remote sensor and you are done. The gas detector will collect all the necessary data information from the sensor including the target gas type. There is onboard historical data logging available as well as RS485 MODBUS RTU communication for PLC and DCS systems. Not to mention, easy connectivity to remote relay module for audio and visual alarms or Emergency Shut Downs (ESD).

We offer 3 wireless gas detection systems, the first being the wireless gateway that has the ability to interact with up to 64 wireless gas sensors and doesn’t require any programming or setup. The second is the wireless monitor that is able to display sensor gas readings and sensor calibrations, with real-time data logging available. Third, is our wireless sensor does not have a sleep mode – meaning that it is active all of the time so that the LCD is constantly displaying the gas level.

Continuous Gas Analyzers – CO2 & H2S

Our dependable and cost-effective on-stream process gas analyzers are meticulously designed to accurately detect hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in process streams and natural gas pipelines – including current gas concentration, the last successful calibration date and time, and the current alarm status. Our H2S process analyzer and our CO2 process analyzer come with standard 4-20mA outputs and three programmable alarm relay contacts for shut-in valves. In addition, our process gas analyzers feature large and back light LCD displays, easy-access push-button switches on the front, and the ability to log historical data.
