Battery handling
- MOD.RACK™ BATTERY RACKING THE WAY YOU WANT IT.
- The MOD.RACK system is an assembly of precision manufactured components made from laser cut high tensile steel with acid-resistant polyurethane powder coating. The 8 system components are specially designed to be flat packed on a double euro-pallet for ease of shipping and are quickly assembled on-site with no welding.
- Each battery requires 2 roller beams. The roller beams are positioned to exactly fit the batteries. If something changes and the slots need to be a little bigger or a little smaller they can be simply re-positioned. As it’s a higher density system you can get up to 20% more batteries in the same space as compared with conventional racks resulting in smaller battery rooms.
- BATTERY AND CHARGER STATIONS, SMALL TO MEDIUM BATTERY CHANGE SYSTEMS.
- These battery and charger stations are suitable for use with either the EZPuller or Attach-A-Puller. The battery sits on rollers for easy extraction and the stands include a safety stop. Chargers can be placed either on a shelf or hung depending on their specification. The stands come in either two or three compartments to suit all configurations.

As the size of batteries in your system changes, additional battery slots are created by simply adjusting the individual battery compartments to accommodate the new batteries. These racks are also designed to house rear, top, and side charger shelves allowing you to maximise the space available for battery changing.
- POWERCHANGER™ SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITH THE WORLD’S LEADING BATTERY CHANGERS.
- For large forklift operations that require safe and efficient battery changing the PowerChanger is the ideal solution. With the electrical drive and separate hydraulic power system for its lift, and operation of the transfer arm, the PowerChanger is unmanaged for fast, smooth, battery changes. By separating the drive and lift systems a lifting speed of 8 metres per minute and travel speed of up to 80 metre per minute can be achieved. This is one reason why the PowerChanger is among the most efficient machines on the market today.

AFS™Aqua Filling System
An essential part of lead-acid battery maintenance is watering a lead-acid battery. Thanks to our industry-standard SmartBlinky range, you know exactly when to water a battery and now we’ve created a new and innovative battery filling system not only saves time but money too.

Our challenge when designing a new battery filling system was to use fewer components while offering more features and benefits than other battery filling system available on the market, all for a lower price. More importantly, the system needed to be compatible with the methods and standards currently in use, to give greater flexibility when choosing the right battery filling system that helps in making batteries better.
By taking a fresh look at how to make a float control water, and stop reliably every time, we have created an ultra-reliable and low-cost universal battery filling system, the AFS – Aqua Filling System.
Along with being faster to install and having fewer parts than the competition, the AFS battery filling system offers a host of additional benefits:
- An easily accessible hydrometer hole.
- Maximum visibility for the level float.
- A water trap.
The AFS – Aqua Filling System is the best battery watering system on the market for small to medium-sized applications. It makes battery watering safe, easy and affordable. It incorporates many unique features that make it the best in its class, as well a being the easiest battery filling system to install, using a minimal number of inventory items. It fills an industrial forklift truck battery in one-tenth the time of hand watering, which means that these systems typically pay for themselves in under a year. Battery Watering Monitors
A significant problem with battery maintenance is knowing when to fill batteries with water. Without indication, operators often need to devise watering schedules or conduct periodic inspections to maintain the batteries. Philadelphia Scientific’s watering monitors dramatically improve battery maintenance by intelligently alerting personnel when a battery needs water — and when it does not.
These monitors allow watering on a labor-saving “as-needed” basis instead of a hit-or-miss schedule. Watering too frequently can cause electrolyte boilovers, which reduce battery capacity by three percent for each occurrence. Lack of water in batteries creates a low electrolyte level, eventually causing permanent damage to the cells. Battery Cleaning
Surfaces in industrial settings are dirty, that’s a fact of life, dust from concrete, oil from machinery, dirt from outside blowing straight in through doors and vents. With batteries, the problem is magnified due to the film of moisture from the gas given off during the battery operation, particularly at the end of the charge, or during equalise charges, which attracts filth. Much of the water in the gas given off by the battery evaporates but the acid remains to pose a safety hazard to operators. Any dirt on the battery sticks to the film of moisture creating a layer of grime.
- 7CLEAN NEUTRALIZER AND DEGREASER CONCENTRATE FOR BATTERIES.
- When cleaning industrial batteries, a neutraliser is required to remove the acidity, this is to protect operators when handling the batteries and to reduce current loss thereby increasing battery runtime. The neutraliser enables cleaning liquids and materials used can be disposed of in normal waste. A commercial-grade degreaser also needs to be used to remove the oil, tar and dirt that accumulates on the top of the battery.

Hard water in your home or warehouse drinking supply is usually perfectly fine for drinking. The minerals found in hard water — primarily calcium and magnesium carbonates — are not harmful to humans. In fact, they are beneficial. But those same minerals are incredibly damaging to industrial batteries and are a leading cause of poor battery performance. The minerals in hard water affect cell voltages and increase self-discharge. The result? Shortened battery run time and reduced battery life.
