About SWAN Analytical
SWAN Analytical Instruments is a pioneering technology provider of online water quality measuring analytical systems, serving customers in the power, process automation, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and potable water industries.
SWAN’s comprehensive instrumentation portfolio is entirely dedicated to water analysis providing reliable and cost-efficient low-maintenance instrument solutions. These online monitoring instruments help to improve the process efficiency and productivity while assuring the water quality.
SWAN is one of the leading manufacturers of online analytical instruments. SWAN has been a global leading provider of online analytical systems in the water industry. The current product portfolio ranges from ultrapure water (like pharmaceutical and semiconductor applications), feedwater, steam and condensate monitoring as well as potable water and industrial water treatment up to swimming pool and sanitary water applications.
Every single instrument is made in Switzerland. In-house manufacturing is necessary for critical parts such as sensors. Every sensor and every instrument has been developed and manufactured at SWAN’s headquarters in Switzerland. Each step, from the machine part to the final assembly undergoes severe quality control procedures. No instrument leaves the company without final testing under real conditions. Only by these diverse quality checks, can we follow our principle: Every instrument must perform to the full satisfaction of its user.
Precision, reliability, and a determination for excellence are qualities that make SWAN an ideal partner for you. We achieve this by relying on long-term supplier relationships and by steadily improving the quality of the parts. There is no quality without the commitment of every employee. SWAN’s staff also consists of a group of highly qualified and motivated specialists. And self-responsibility is the key to a flat organizational structure and pleasant/convenient working conditions.
The Product of SWAN Analytical

Portable Water
In order to operate and efficiently control the drinking water treatment process, it is essential to measure and record the water quality for trend analyses from raw water intake, to purification, storage, and distribution. With SWAN’s analytical instruments, the customer receives an application-specific instrument setup providing easy operation, low maintenance, and rapid plant integration. SWAN’s online analyzers enable a systematic preventive approach to drinking water safety covering the parameters below.
Semicon & High Purity Water
The monitoring of “Ultra Pure Water” or “High Purity Water” requires the lowest possible detection limits for process analyzers. Resistivity is often around 18 M?. Dedicated instruments can detect infinitely small amounts (ppt e.g. parts per trillion) of ions. Chlorine, Ozone, ClO2. The pretreatment phase uses identical analyzers for Chlorine and Ozone as potable water plants. The measurement after dechlorination is more critical because the chlorine content must be zero.
AMI Trides is the best choice for such applications. The Trides sensor has virtually no drift. The absence of a sample and the failure of sensor cleaning will trigger an alarm. Hence there are no false zeros. Samples must have a conductivity superior to 5 µSiemens. AMI Codes is the right choice for samples with a conductivity below 5 µSiemens. CHEMATEST portable photometer: A high-precision portable photometer for chlorine, ozone, and other disinfectants is available for calibration and QC.
Feedwater, Steam, and Condensate
The most important parameters in Water/Steam Cycles such as Cation conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and pH are available as pre-assembled and factory-tested units. Dedicated analyzers for sodium, silica, phosphate, and hydrazine are also factory-tested and calibrated for immediate operation.
Conductivity
The SWAN online conductivity monitors for water steam cycles provide the complete scope of conductivity measurements for maximum instrument availability and gap-free trend analysis. Conductivity in water steam cycles is measured as specific conductivity (total conductivity), acidic conductivity, conductivity after cation exchanger CACE, and degassed conductivity.
Pharma Water
The monitoring of “Purified Water” or “Water for Injection” in the pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated. These instruments comply with the highest pharmacopeia standards.
Waste Water & Effluents
Instruments for monitoring the aeration process, nitrification and de-nitrification; chlorination and de-chlorination; as well as the final discharge into the environment.
