With built in technology to compensate for temperature the IRU-9400 is well suited for object detection and is recommended for indoor use.

The IRU-9400 ultrasonic handles targets at distances from 6 in. to 35 ft. Measure a larger range without complex mounting arrangements.
This sensor uses a more sensitive transducer to detect difficult targets. It’s great for non-reflective and/or soft surfaces. At the same time, it is not sealed for harsh environments and is recommended for use indoors and away from dust.
With the more sensitive transducer and superior range, the IRU-9400 is well suited for object detection applications.
