Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Waste Water

Description Abanaki Oil Skimmer

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater, Oil, and water mixtures derived from manufacturing processes and food processing facilities that are held in large holding tanks or pits. In these applications, oil is usually removed by an oil skimmer or it can be pumped out for disposal. Skimming the floating oils with little water content can reduce the cost of disposal and lower the contingent liabilities of industrial wastewater discharge.

The Products of Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater

Grease Grabber Belt Oil Skimmer

The Abanaki Grease Grabber is a dependable and effective means of skimming oil and floating grease from water, under the most demanding conditions. The Grease Grabber makes use of the differences in specific gravity and surface tension between oil and water. These physical characteristics allow the skimmer belt to attract grease, oil, and other hydrocarbon liquids as the belt passes through the surface of the water.

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater
Grease Grabber Belt Oil Skimmer

The skimmer belt is specifically selected for your application. Texture pinch rollers pull the belt over the idler pulley and through the angled wiper blades, where grease is removed before passing through the pinch rollers. The grease is rolled off into a heated hopper, which maintains fluidity for easy drainage through a 4″ ID discharge port. Belt tension is maintained by the weight of a free-riding tail pulley. The tail pulley is tethered to the underside of the Grease Grabber to prevent accidental loss.

Features

  • Removes floating grease and heavy oil from water.
  • Elevates skimmed grease up to 100 feet or more, for easy discharge into drums.
  • Removes up to 160 gallons of grease per hour.
  • Reduces fluid disposal costs.
  • Helps meet government requirements for water discharge.
  • Designed for the most demanding conditions.
  • Corrosion-resistant materials.
  • Customized belt lengths and materials.
  • Belt and wiper materials are unaffected by most greases and oils.
  • Removable guards and other features make maintenance a breeze.

Oil Concentrator – Oil Water Separator

The Abanaki Oil Concentrator provides virtually complete oil/water separation for recycling or disposal of either liquid. Under most operating conditions, Abanaki skimmers pick up oil with only small traces of water.

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater
Oil Concentrator – Oil Water Separator

However, as surface oil is reduced to a thin layer (1/16 inch thick or less), more water (or coolant) may be picked up along with the oil. When used in tandem with an oil skimmer, the Oil Concentrator solves this problem by providing final phase separation. The result is water (or coolant) available for recycling, and virtually water-free oil for disposal.

Features

  • Needs no electricity, timers, sensors or pumps.
  • No moving parts.
  • Available for all Abanaki oil skimmers.
  • Helps increase the recycle value of skimmed oil.
  • Saves costly coolant and washing solutions from premature disposal.
  • Mounts easily on all Abanaki oil skimmers.
  • Sludge screen keeps large debris out of skimmed oil.
  • Optional heater keeps oil flowing in cold environments.

Oil Grabber Model 4 Belt Oil Skimmer

The Abanaki Model 4 Oil Grabber is a dependable and effective means of removing oil from water and water-base solutions. Often, oil skimming by itself will reduce oil to an acceptable level of water purity. Depending on the characteristics of the liquid, it is possible for the Model 4 alone to reduce oil content to less than five parts per million in water. The unit can be used as a pretreatment before filtration, and in conjunction with coalescing systems as part of an industrial wastewater treatment plan. Model 4 belt oil skimmers utilizes a continuous belt and wiper to remove up to 20 gallons of oil per hour from the fluid surface.

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater
Oil Grabber Model 4 Belt Oil Skimmer

The belt, operating on a motor and pulley system, runs through contaminated liquid to pick up oil from the surface. After traveling over the head pulley, the belt passes through tandem wiper blades where oil is scraped off both sides of the belt and discharged. The tail pulley has flanges which allow it to roll freely on the inside of the belt without becoming dislodged. It requires no bearings and does not need to be fastened to the tank. If turbulent conditions exist, an optional tether and cage assembly prevents the tail pulley from being dislodged.

Oil skimming makes use of the differences in specific gravity and surface tension between oil and water. These physical characteristics allow the belt to attract oil and other hydrocarbon liquids from the surface of the fluid. The Model 4 can be used in tanks with depths as shallow as one foot, or as deep as 100 feet.

Features

  • Requires only a small area in the tank or sump.
  • Easy mounting.
  • High-temperature capability.
  • Chip-resistant powder finish.
  • Hazardous duty and food grade options.
  • Custom designs and turnkey systems are available.
  • Fast cleaning with minimal maintenance.

Oil Viper Tube Oil Skimmer

The Abanaki Oil Viper tube skimmer is a surface oil skimmer that effectively removes floating surface oils by means of an oleophilic (oil attracting) 3/4 inch diameter continuous looped tube. The tube extends out over the surface of the tank or pit and collects the free-floating oils. The Oil Viper has a specially designed method for removing the oil from the tube.

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater
Oil Viper Tube Oil Skimmer

It has a unique wiper combination attached to the tube itself in addition to the ceramic wiper on the skimmer. The result is a virtual oil-free tube as it leaves the surface oil skimmer for quicker oil removal. Removal rates can be as high as one hundred gallons per hour.

Features

  • The compact design fits almost any tank or pit.
  • Explosion-proof motors are available.
  • Tubes with up to 100-foot reach.
  • Safety shut-off switch for safe maintenance.
  • Simple and effective drive design for lasting performance.
  • Unique wiping system for more effective oil skimming.
  • Removes floating surface oils in industrial or food processing tanks.

Tote-It Portable Belt Skimmer

The Tote-It’s patented design is a dependable and effective means of removing free-floating oil from water. The single assembly unit can be used in any application where 115 VAC, 60 or 220V, 50 Hz power is available. The Tote-It utilizes a continuous belt and wiper to remove up to 12 gallons of oil per hour from the fluid surface. The belt operates on a motor and pulley system attached to a stabilizer bar that is immersed in the contaminated liquid. After traveling over the head pulley, the belt passes through tandem wiper blades where oil is scraped off both sides of the belt and discharged through a 1-1/4 in. ID hose.

Abanaki Oil Skimmer for Industrial Wastewater
Tote-It Portable Belt Skimmer

The tail pulley has flanges that allow it to roll freely on the inside of the belt without becoming dislodged. It does not need to be fastened to the tank. The Tote-It is especially well suited for parts washing and machining center applications. By removing surface oil from a wash tank, the parts will not be recontaminated as they are withdrawn. Removing tramp oil from a coolant tank prevents excessive smoke and fumes due to oil burning during cutting operations. It also reduces bacteria growth in the tank, along with the resulting odor.

Features

  • Multiple site usage – easily moved from one place to another.
  • 6 gph removal rate.
  • Can be used in tanks as shallow as a few inches.
  • Requires no tank modifications in most applications.
  • Maintains skimming efficiency in fluctuating fluid levels.
  • Prevents plugging of spray heads and filters.
  • Conserves parts wash water and prevent recontamination of parts as they are removed from the wash tank.
  • Saves coolants by removing tramp oil.
