EGE infrared detectors are specially designed to overcome the challenges of temperature monitoring under extreme conditions. With its rugged construction and IP68 and IP69K certifications, the unit is able to withstand mechanical stress, high-pressure water, temperature fluctuations, and harsh environmental conditions. Its heat-resistant fiberglass optics up to 250°C, even 500°C for certain models, make it ideal for applications where conventional sensors cannot survive.

Function and application EGE Infrared Detectors
Where conventional sensors would fail due to too high temperature, infrared detectors working on a non-contact principle can be used. They respond to the radiated heat of the hot materials. Compact units with optics are used for distances of 2 to 8 m from the object. For distances of only a few cm, heat-resistant light-conducting cables should be used for transmission.
Infrared detectors are used wherever and whenever temperatures have to be monitored and conventional sensors would fail due to excessive heat.
