In 1959, OMRON founder Kazuma Tateishi resonated with the public nature of business, saying, “A company shouldn’t be just about pursuing profits…it has an obligation to serve society.” Based on this philosophy, Tateishi created the OMRON Corporate Motto, “To improve lives and contribute to a better society.”
The OMRON Corporate Motto served as a source of direction and unification for our company, leading to numerous global innovations, contributions to social development, and improved lives through our businesses. In 1990, we transformed our Corporate Motto into the OMRON Principles, continuing to evolve with the times.
Today, OMRON speeds toward higher levels of globalization based on VG2020, our 10-year long-term vision. We strive to improve corporate value by solving a variety of global social issues. To achieve our goals, every employee must gain a deeper understanding of the OMRON Principles and act according to the tenets of these principles.
Given these circumstances, we updated the OMRON Principles for greater clarity and practicability across our worldwide organization. OMRON will continue to anticipate changes in society, striving to improve corporate value as we solve social issues and improve lives through our practice of the OMRON Principles.
