On/Off Valves by Schubert & Salzer
Actuated on/off valves that come in a variety of configurations and sizes. Available with pneumatic or motorized actuators, Schubert & Salzer provides application solutions for practically any process. Traditional globe pattern designs, or angle globe seat valves providing straight through flow paths which reduce turbulence are available. All are designed with a variety of end connections including ANSI 150/300 flanges, threaded connections, tri-clamps and a variety of other weld ends. Valves offer millions of maintenance free cycles in difficult applications such as steam, gaseous media and contaminated liquids. Products are available in 316 stainless steel and bronze; with actuator packages in all stainless steel (including internals), heavy duty metals and light weight polymers. The range of motorized actuators have many features including weather & water resistance, a variety of voltages, and fail-safe operation.
Globe Valves
Globe valves are available in two categories, conventional and angle globe. Conventional valves are integrally flanged meeting ANSI and DIN dimensional specifications. Angle globes offer high flow capacity along with bubble tight shutoff reducing the need for isolation to the process. These control valves feature integral top mount integral positioners; pneumatic, analog and digital. Motor operators are also available for both on/off and positioning control. Sizes available are 1/4? through 3?. Control valves are 316 stainless steel and on/off motorized versions are also available in bronze construction.
Sliding Gate Valves
Over 40 years ago, Schubert & Salzer’s sliding gate products were developed as an efficient alternative to conventional control valves. The design is uniquely simple, but is intelligently engineered to tackle complex applications which require precise control under taxing conditions. Through continued innovation and development, the GS product line is constantly expanding and improving. Despite being a stalwart product in the market for many years we continue to revolutionize the valve’s transcendence to new heights and standards.
The GS series incorporates a unique variable orifice principle which translates into a highly efficient yet simple design which incorporates features that are important for our customer’s needs. The valve is light in weight and compact in stature yet it has the capacity, temperature and pressure specifications that exceed many other products.
The GS valve controls a variety of media, including steam, liquids and gases. A fixed plate or disc is set into a wafer style body with a variety of orifices machined into material. These slots can vary in design, size and configuration which determine the flow coefficient (Cv) and the flow characteristic. A moving disc of similar size and design also has a series of orifices but only one type which represents the highest flow capacity of the particular line size. This disc moves against the plate, creating a straight through flow path for the process media. As the valve modulates flow is broken apart, creating a variable field of area flow which reduces energy and noise. The differential pressure creates a unique seal between the two plates and when in the sealed position an overlap of approximately 1 mm creates a leak tight valve.
Ball sector valves
The Ball Sector Valve is designed to succeed in harsh applications; slurries, dry media, fluids with suspended solids or fibers. With pneumatic and electric actuators it is the best choice for very precise control within a variety of process industries requiring a valve that can handle exacting applications.
Segment valves and segment orifices
Segmented Disc valves by Schubert & Salzer offer high precision over a wide flow range. Due to the robust design and the bi-directional flow capability, segmented disc valves are suitable for fluids as well as steam and other gases. The valve also is not affected by contaminated media. Range of applications varies amongst a large degree of process industries and utilities. Availability in sizes through 32 inch.
Sanitary valves
Purity is preeminent In many industries demanding the highest degree of cleanliness. Aseptic valves from Schubert & Salzer operate to the highest global requirements and specifications. Right angle self draining design from 316L barstock, valves meet FDA and USP Class VI requirements with EHEDG approval. Products have low EP finishes available and are CIP and SIP capable.
Pinch Valves
Many fluids cannot be controlled throught conventional valves due to high solid content, heavy viscosites or contaminants. In some cases the media is too agressive fro conventional alloys. Long service life and reliability combined with the excellent control quality of an integrated positioner, lead to an ideal control valve with minimal maintenance and low operating costs.
The Schubert & Salzer pinch and diaphragm valves, pneumatic or motor acuated are true alternatives for applications in many industries whether for general or sanitary functions.
The pinch valve for endless tubes offers a modern alternative to conventional pinch or diaphragm valves. The pinch valve can be used at any position on an endless tube for on/off and control operations. With no dead space, the highest sanitary demands can be met. No need for CIP/SIP concerns as the tubing can simply be exchanged after each batching operation.
Manual Valves
Manual valves are available in a variety of configurations including sliding gate, angle globe and traditional globe. These valves offer simple manual control via handwheel.
Positioners
Due to the direct-mount of the positioner to the valve actuator, there are no exposed moving parts, which increases the operating efficiency, enhances control and accommodates simple maintenance requirements. The positioners are characterized by compact dimensions, handling of short strokes and its intgrated visual display of the valve position.
Electric actuators
In addition to a precision control element, a precise actuator is also required for solving complex control tasks. This requirement is met in full by the two electrical Schubert & Salzer actuators types 2030 and 2032. Their development is focused on control accuracy, high positioning speed and reliability. As with all electronic components by Schubert & Salzer, communication and settings of all parameters are managed via the configuration software DeviceConfig.
Industry and Sectors
Our products are in use on a global scale everywhere where there is a necessity to securely shut-off or control fluid or gaseous media. No matter whether a series product or a customized valve solution, the Schubert & Salzer team has the claim to find the best products and system solutions for your industry sector-related application together with you, or it shall develop one should none exist.
