The Products of Cosasco

Access Systems

Cosasco 3600 FR Service Valve Kits are especially designed for internal corrosion monitoring and for use with Cosasco Access Fittings and RBS/RBSA/RSL Retrievers. Attached to the access fitting body, the valve is the control which allows the pressurized product to enter the retriever during insertion and removal of Cosasco Solid or Hollow Plug Assemblies. It also contains the pressurized product when the retriever is disconnected.

Basically a ball-type valve with full-opening port, a special pressure equalizing port allows the operator to slowly release line pressure to the retriever. With pressure balanced on both sides of the ball, the difficulty or torque problems, even on high pressure systems. This kit will help to set up a total internal corrosion monitoring system with pipeline corrosion protection.

Coupons

Disc Coupon Holder Assemblies offer several corrosion monitoring advantages over Strip Coupon Holder Assemblies. There is no need to orient corrosion coupons in relation to product flow direction, they offer more exposed surface at the pipeline wall surfaces, and can allow corrosion coupon monitoring without interfering with pigging operations.

Downhole Corrosion

The newly re-designed DCMS™ tool is the only tool available which provides recorded corrosion and temperature data for the hostile conditions of downhole operation. The DCMS™ tool may be attached to a variety of wireline approved running tools for insertion into the production well and can be set at any required depth.

ECM

The Atmospheric Corrosion Sensor monitors the corrosivity of the air in plant control rooms, in motor control centers, near exhaust stacks and in other environmental monitoring applications. The sensor is compatible with Cosasco’s ECM product.

Gateway

The R-Y410 is based on wireless communications standard ISA100 Wireless for industrial automation of the International Society of Automation (ISA). This product has a system manager/security manager/gateway function based on ISA100 Wireless and combining this with Field Wireless Access Point (R-Y510) and Cosasco Wireless Devices composes the field wireless system.

Handheld

The Aquamate™ is your best answer to the problem of getting quick and easy corrosion rate measurements in water systems. Simply plug the hand-held instrument into a LPR probe and press the measure key. In a few minutes the readout will display the corrosion rate in mils per year (MPY), the imbalance reading, conductivity, and, if you’re using a ER Temperature LPR probe, the water temperature.

The Aquamate™ instrument’s patented Solution Resistance Compensation extends the low conductivity operating range from cooling water to condensate, feedwater, and drinking water systems. Manual conductivity correction is not required. The true corrosion rate will conveniently be displayed when the alloy multiplier is pre-programmed.

In addition, the Aquamate™ measures the imbalance current between the electrodes, which is related to pitting activity. The instrument fits easily in a shirt pocket and is powered by a single 9 volt battery. Considering the features and size, this instrument sets a new standard for portable corrosion rate monitoring instrumentation.

Instruments

The ECM is a multi?parameter monitoring system providing constant surveillance of the environment and rapid detection of any deterioration that could result in damage to expensive equipment and valuable assets. Early detection of humidity, high temperature, or corrosive conditions will permit corrective action to be taken before substantial damage occurs to sensitive computer and instrumentation systems or electrical equipment.

ECM measures humidity, temperature, and the corrosive attack on two replaceable thin?film sensors. The corrosion rate is shown by indicator lights that correspond to the ISA Standard S71.04?2013 classification of environments (G1 through GX) for copper and silver.

Integrated Systems

The Integrated Corrosion Management System ICMS is the most comprehensive and powerful online corrosion monitoring system available. It is ideally suited for medium- to large-scale systems, or for small systems with the need for future growth.

The ICMS3 allows integration of all Cosasco corrosion, erosion, and cathodic protection products, including the latest in Microcor metal loss technology, and LPR corrosion, pitting, and galvanic transmitters.

The ICMS3 corrosion management server is the hub of the corrosion or erosion monitoring system, integrating several forms of corrosion monitoring and process data into one complete online system, shared over a variety of communication links. Corrosion and erosion monitoring can be managed as process parameters with constant data streaming into your preferred system.

Microcor

The Microcor Data Logger is a corrosion/erosion monitor ideal for remote locations where the direct online operation is not possible. With its new extended 5-year battery life, the MDL now ensures years, not months of uninterrupted operation.

When unexpected corrosion problems arise, the MDL is a quick and cost-effective solution. In a matter of minutes, the MDL can be easily configured and installed, with no power or communication wiring required.

Data download is simple and quick with a Checkmate™ DL in hazardous areas or on a laptop if located in a safe area. Cosasco Data Offline software allows for easy data storage and graphical analysis of the results, showing metal loss and corrosion/erosion rate.

Non Intrusive Monitoring

Echo Point is Cosasco’s newest technology that pushes the boundaries of wireless ultrasonic monitoring. Ultrasonic transducers powered by off-the-shelf batteries communicate using WirelessHART to compatible gateways. An integrated thermocouple with a temperature correction algorithm provides high-accuracy measurements.

Probes

The CUI Electrical Resistance (ER) probe sensor is an individual electrical resistance (ER) probe that provides a measurement of the corrosion rate near the pipe surface. It is useful in determining the underlying cause of corrosion and the ability to measure changes in corrosion conditions, ie the effectiveness of repairs, temperature cycles or environmental changes eg after a severe rain storm.

Rouge Monitoring

The Wireless Rouge Monitoring system provides accurate measurement of ultralow corrosion (rouging) rates in high purity biopharmaceutical water systems. Monitoring the rouging rate of typical ions of ferric, chromium, molybdenum and nickel oxides in the water assists the determination of derouging and passivation frequency. The installation of a Rouge monitor provides absolute measurements for rouge rate and rouge accumulation (thickness).

The high sensitivity frontend probe consists of electropolished 316L stainless steel and probe assembly. The probe assembly is connected to a battery-operated wireless transmitter providing real-time data and seamless integration.

The WirelessHART protocol uses spread spectrum frequency hopping 2.4GHz radios. These radios communicate directly with the gateway or through other transmitters forming a mesh network. The WirelessHART gateway supports up to 100 units. The typical distance between transmitters is 300-900ft.

The gateway is located in a central position, powered by 24VDC and connected to the DCS (Distributed Control System) system. Using a gateway, the rouging rate in microns/month and rouge accumulation in microns is displayed in the DCS, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), BMS (Building Management System), data highway, or process control system.
