Philmac Valves and Fittings Overview
Philmac Valves and Fittings proudly developing and manufacturing products in Adelaide, South Australia since 1929. Philmac achieving success through a commitment to Australian manufacturing and a continuous improvement in quality, product design, innovation and customer service.
It all started with the innovative thinking and relentless determination of one man in 1929. A talented engineer, “Mac” Phillips was a man unafraid of taking risks and driven by the philosophy that there is always a better way to do things
The first of many great innovations was the world’s first press-button toilet cistern.
Other world firsts included:
- 1947: A revolutionary new ball-cam float valve.
- 1966: Philmac’s ratio pressure reducing valves.
- 1968: Philmac became the first company in the world to make compression fittings entirely from plastic.
- 1997: metric compression fittings suitable for global markets

Philmac Compression Fittings
Rural Fitting
- Philmac Rural can be easily disassembled and reconnected simply by loosening the nut and taking the insert out of the body of the fitting. The pipe can then be freed.
- Philmac Rural inserts are self aligning. Simply bring the insert into the body of the fitting and then tighten the nut with a wrench. As the nut tightens it will draw the insert into the body of the fitting to create the perfect seal every time.
3G Metrics Compression
- Philmac’s range of Australian made metric compression fittings are the solution for the perfect connection every time thanks to Philmac’s unique Slide and Tighten™ technology.
- No loose components , Grip ring and seal remain captive in the body when the nut is removed.
- Interchangeability, Rural, Safelok and Metric components are all interchangeable as they share a common body.
Easy Lok
- EasyLOK fittings have been designed to ensure that installation is as easy as possible and that it works everytime. When working with large pipes, installation can be challenging but Philmac EasyLOK fittings make light work of large pipe connection.
- Ease of Assembly: Easylok fittings have been designed to ensure that installation is as easy as possible and that it works everytime. When working with large pipes, installation can be challenging not only because of the size of the pipe but also the conndition of the pipe. Recognising this Easylok fittings are installed by taking them apart and then putting the components on separately.
- These parts all go onto the pipe easily and ensure that everything is positioned correctly no matter the condition of the pipe. The pipe can then be pushed into the body of fitting and the nut fully tightened. Installation is made easy and 100% reliable with Easylok.
Metrics Compression
- Metric compression fittings are the fitting of choice for industrial applications, where blueline PE pipe is carrying media with chemical, compressed air or dirty water.
- Slide and Tighten™, No pipe preparation is needed and no force is required to push the pipe past the seal. Simply insert the pipe into the fitting until the first point of resistance is felt and then tighten the nut until it touches the flange on the fitting body.
Rural Saddles
- Philmac Rural tapping saddles are manufactured from high grade polypropylene to provide a high degree of resistance to corrosion, chemicals and sunlight. Available with either galv or SS316 nuts and bolts. The ideal solution for providing threaded offtakes onto Rural poly pipe.
- The saddles incorporate only one pair of bolts minimizing the effort required to install the saddle.
Transition UTC
- Philmac UTC (Universal Transition Coupling) is a unique range of mechanical compression fittings that provides the ultimate in pipe connection flexibility.
- The design of the UTC means that once the nut is backed off the pipe can easily be removed from the fitting.
Metrics Saddles
- Philmac Metric tapping saddles are manufactured from high grade polypropylene to provide PN16 rated connections. Available with either galv or SS316 nuts and bolts. The ideal solution for providing threaded offtakes onto Metric PE pipe.
- The saddle incorporates a specially enlarged seal to ensure maximum compression on the pipe. This provides a high pressure rating and also a high tolerance to scuffed or out of round pipe.
Transition Poly to Coper
- 3G Poly to Copper incorporates all the benefits of Slide & Tighten technology. 3G Poly to Copper includes a range of joiners, elbow and tee’s to easily join metric PE to Australian standard copper for cold water applications.
- The flange on the body of the fitting acts as a visual cue to indicate when the nut is fully tightened. Once the nut touches the flange on the body, the fitting is in a fully tightened state.
Gas Compression
- Philmac’s range of Gas Compression Fittings are a fast solution for gas connections. Installation is easy, and the range includes PE connections (metric and imperial) and connections from PE to a range of pipe materials including galvanised, PVC and copper.
Pipe Repair Kits
- Philmac Pipe Repair Kits are designed to enable fast and simple pipe repair to Metric and Rural systems. The range is based on the successful 3G Metric and Rural fittings platforms and is provided in a handy package with everything you need for fast pipe repair.
