Electromagnetic Flow Meter
Electromagnetic Flow Meter

With a wide variety of liners and electrodes, including ‘Hot Tap’ removable style, the TigermagEP™ can be utilized in many varied applications including water, agricultural irrigation, raw sewage, activated sludge, wastewater, pulp and paper, and mining. With its vertically integrated manufacturing facility, Sparling is easily able to manufacture meters for high temperature and high pressure.

Principle of Operation

Sparling magnetic flowmeters are based on Faraday’s Law which states that the voltage induced in a conductor moving through a magnetic field is proportional to the velocity of that conductor. Accuracy is minimally affected by changes in temperature, pressure, viscosity, or conductivity.

The signal voltage is measured by two electrodes. Galvanic elements form on the surface areas between the ion-conducting liquid and the metal electrodes. The polarization voltages which result are dependent on temperature, pressure, and the chemical composition of the electrodes and liquid. These are direct voltages which cannot be predicted and which can be different at each electrode. The signal voltage must be separated from the interferencedirect voltage. Proper g

Propeller Flow Meter

Sparling’s line of propeller flowmeters supplies an economical way to measure cold water in agricultural and municipal environments.

Features

  • Measures accurately over a flow range of 10:1 or greater
  • ± 2% of rate accuracy, guaranteed by certified wet calibration at three test points in Sparling’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable hydraulic flow lab
  • Sturdy cast or fabricated steel construction
  •  Easily maintained with standard tools
  • Registration can be furnished in any standard Engineering Unit

Your Sparling meter utilizes specially designed propellers and bearings matched to your flow range to insure a long life. Maximum
flow ranges can be safely exceeded by 50% when used intermittently. See the Flow Range chart on page 19. In order to insure proper meter configuration, anticipated flow ranges including minimum and normal flow rates expected, should always be specified on application sheets.
