Description
Ashcroft RTDs Thermocouple assemblies monitor temperature in industrial, process and hazardous installations. Available with Pt 100 and Pt 1000 RTDs, they are designed for use with either DIN 43772/T.2 or ISA-ds 49 style thermowells along with DIN and ASME type lag extensions. A wide selection of aluminum and 316 stainless steel connection heads make these devices configurable to the requirements of nearly any installation.
Not every application is the same, so you need to get the right equipment for your specific needs. When it comes to temperature measurement, inaccurate readings can severely impact your process.
So, how can you ensure you are correctly and reliably monitoring temperature? Ashcroft has just released a new line of custom RTDs and thermocouples. Whether your application is for light-industrial temperature measurements or critical heavy-duty installations, our wide range of reliable RTD and thermocouple probes are custom-configured to meet your specific application requirements.
This article will detail several of the new probes, their features and specifications and for which applications they work best.
Important Features from
With a broad selection of connections, stems, lags and thermowells, Ashcroft Types S50, S80 & S81 RTD and thermocouple probes can be custom configured to meet the specifications of nearly any EPC or large project requirement.
Intrinsically safe and explosion-proof versions for use in hazardous locations include FM approval. A terminal block and a variety of heads accommodate a choice of direct wiring or the addition of a 4-20 mA output transmitter.

Ashcroft S01 RTD & Thermocouple Inserts
S01 RTD Mineral Insulated Probe Insert Assemblies used in industrial applications for probe replacements. The sensors incorporated in these inserts are with a mineral insulation metal sheath. They can be of two types: resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) or thermocouples (TCs). In each case, the sensor supplies an electrical signal corresponding to the temperature.

Integral DIN style terminal block and transmitter designs. The travel of this spring mounting assures best thermal conductivity, compensation of length tolerances in thermowells and protection against vibration. When mounted in thermowells, inserts can be simply replaced, without removing the thermowell from the pipe and without any process interruption.

- Temperature Transmitters
DESCRIPTION
Ashcroft offers temperature transmitters from industry leading manufacturers that can be installed and programmed in the heads of S10, S50 and S70 temperature probes and on S01 temperature inserts. Head mount transmitters are for DIN form B mounting.

Remote head style transmitters with display are also available. Transmitters are available with FM or ATEX intrinsically safe approvals. When used in intrinsically safe (IS) applications the transmitter’s IS approval is used rather than the probe’s IS approval since the wiring from the hazardous area to the nonhazardous area is done from the transmitter.
Features
- 1 or 2 Sensor inputs
- 4 to 20 mA output
- Models with HART Protocol
- FM or ATEX Intrinsic Safety Approvals Available
- Installed in S01, S10, S50 & S70 probes
- Programming to customer requirements
- Calibration Certificates Available
