West Control Solutions KS 45 Rail Line Systems

About West Control Solutions KS 45 Rail Line Systems

For many demanding applications, Rail Line’s compact, multipurpose, and adaptable design provides accurate measurement, dependable limit monitoring, and stable control. The Rail Line product line includes temperature limiters, controllers, transmitters, I/O modules, communication field bus couplers, and transmitters for strain gauge sensors for regulating, measuring, converting, and monitoring.

Descriptions of KS 45 Rail Line Systems

In almost every industry, the universal KS 45 controllers are made to provide accurate and economical temperature management. The output of the controller can be configured as a signaler, 2-point or continuous PID control, 3-point stepping control, or 3-point control with an optional split range.

The process value signal is given a universal input. For the measurement of heating current or an external set-point signal, a second analogue input is available. Each KS 45 has two switching outputs and at least one universal input. The controller might have opto coupler outputs or a universal output, depending on the version. The universal output can be set up as a transmitter supply signal, a voltage or current signal, or a signal for solid-state relay control. Galvanic isolation is offered from the supply voltage, the communication interfaces, and between inputs and outputs.

Mounting

The little KS 45 can be easily unmounted and is clipped into a top-hat DIN rail. All of the connections are plug-in, allowing for rapid controller replacement without requiring the wire to be disconnected.

Display and operation

The measured value and all of the unit’s operational activities can be shown simultaneously thanks to the dual-line LC display. Additionally, an LED and four additional display components provide a trustworthy indicator of error messages, operating mode, and functioning condition. Any signal or parameter can be shown in the second display line by using the extended operating level.

Interfaces and Engineering Tools

An engineering tool can also be used to modify the controller’s parameters. The user may do the task at hand without having to follow operating instructions thanks to the BlueControl® software, which includes a controller simulation, and, most importantly, the easy connection made possible by the BluePort® front interface. Of course, the controller front can also be used to adjust almost every option. Additionally, an optional RS 485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol installed in the top-hat DIN rail allows the KS 45 to communicate with PCs and other systems. Fieldbuses can be connected to devices with an optional system interface through a bus coupler.

Password protection

If required, unauthorized access to the various Operating Levels can be prevented with a password, or an entire level can be blocked.
