Expansion valve

Expansion valves are components capable of taking refrigerant from its condensation pressure to its evaporation pressure. They are proportional control devices that act to regulate the flow or refrigerant as the thermal load conditions in the evaporator change. Castel expansion valves are available with a wide range of potentials, working pressures/temperatures, and connections. Expansion valves can be used for refrigeration and air condition applications, for fluorinated refrigerants (HCFC, HFC, and HFO), and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2). This family of expansion valves includes thermostatic and solenoid valves (PWM valves). The latter can be used in combination with a variety of coil types with different outputs and for the most common voltages.

Solenoid Valves

Solenoid valves can be used in industrial applications, for air, water, and other fluids used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, for fluorinated refrigerants (HCFC, HFC and HFO) and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2). Solenoid valves are available in a wide range of outputs, operating pressures/temperatures, connections, couplings, and with various coil types, with a variety of outputs and using the most common voltages.

Safety Devices

Safety devices for refrigeration systems are devices for humidity control and dehydration, as well as mechanical filters for the refrigerant. Indicators and filters used in refrigeration and air conditioning for fluorinated refrigerants (HCFC, HFC, and HFO) and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2) are available in a wide range of outputs, calibration and operating pressures, and connections.

Check Valves

A check valve is a device that allows fluids to cross in a single direction inside a pipeline or a conduit, for which it is important to check the correspondence between the direction of the flow in the pipeline and the direction of the arrow indicated on the valve body. The valves can be installed in any section of a refrigeration system where it is necessary to avoid the consequences of undesirable flow inversion, with respect to the operating limits and the yields. Check valves consist of a constrained element of a guide, that thanks to the spring action is pushed against the valve base and this happens when the pressure to open the valve is not sufficient. On the other hand, when there is sufficient positive pressure, the check valve opens enabling the fluid passage. Castel offers different types of check valves, including hermetic valves and valves that can be disassembled.

Pressure Regulators

Pressure regulators can be installed on three main branches of a line (liquid line, intake line, and hot gas line) as well as on the high and low-pressure lines, ensuring constant pressure to refrigeration and air conditioning systems. There are six different types, with variants available based on the fluids used. Capacity regulators are installed on refrigeration and air conditioning systems to limit the minimum evaporation pressure during periods of reduced load.

Start pressure regulators are used in low-temperature refrigeration systems and are designed to prohibit the compressor motor from overloading when the intake pressure exceeds the operating pressure expected from the compressor.

Condensing pressure regulators are designed to limit the liquid flow rate from the condenser to the liquid receiver tank, effectively reducing the exchange surface of the condenser and increasing the condensation pressure. Evaporator pressure regulators maintain the evaporation pressure constant, thereby regulating the evaporator temperature as a function of the change in load.

On the other hand, liquid receiver tank pressure regulators are used along with condensing pressure regulators, as an alternative to the differential valve. Finally, water-regulating valves are used typically on condensers supplied by well water. They are used to keep the condensation pressure constant at a pre-set value.

Refrigerating systems protectors

Refrigerating systems protectors are devices for humidity control and dehydration, as well as mechanical filters for the refrigerant. Indicators and filters used in refrigeration and air conditioning for fluorinated refrigerants (HCFC, HFC, and HFO) and natural refrigerants (HC and CO2) are available in a wide range of outputs, calibration and operating pressures, and connections.

Oil control systems

A proper oil control system is essential to ensuring compressor lubrication and energy-efficient cooling. Excessive oil in a refrigerating system can lead to oil slugging to the compressor. This can damage a compressor in the same manner as liquid refrigerant slugging.

Removing or reducing the amount of oil that enters the intake line increases the yield of the refrigeration plant. Large amounts of oil in a refrigeration or air conditioning system reduce the yield of the system since the oil film that deposits on the internal walls of the evaporator and condenser, reduces the heat exchange.

Valves with screw shutter

Castel offers a wide range of ball valves for each application and under all working conditions, including those with or without a filling connection. Castel has also a wide range of valves with screw shutters that can be installed on a variety of commercial refrigeration systems and civil and industrial area air conditioning systems.

Vibration absorbers

Vibration absorbers are installed on commercial refrigerating systems and on civil and industrial air conditioning systems with the objective of eliminating the transmission of compressor vibrations to the refrigerating system pipes. TIG-welded unions are made between the various components, making the vibration absorbers resistant to overheating during the piping connection phase. They can be installed on the inlet and outlet line, near the compressor.
